The negatives of a Blog.

There are many great things about blogging. Some of my favorite are sharing pictures and stories with family that live far away, reconnecting with friends, the feeling of community with others who have similar situations, and finding great book recommendations. There are however some negatives. One that I want to talk about right now is that things can be misread. This is something that is a problem not only with blogs, but also in e-mails, texts, and regular written word. I have a feeling that my previous post was possibly misread by people that I care about and I wanted to write this post to attempt better wording to explain myself. One thing is that I never meant to make it seem like I feel unloved. I am very happy and my friends play a large part in that. Also it may seem like I was blaming others for the distance that has happened with some friendships and that is not what I think at all. No one is at fault for this. And if there is anyone to blame then it would be me. I am one of the worst at keeping in touch with others. I always have the best intentions to call someone, send them a card, or invite them over, but I have the worst follow through. And that is really what I meant to say in the last post. I knew about my intentions and lack of action and I was wondering if others have this in common with me, or not. An anonymous person commented on the last post and I think they said it best-"I think it takes two to keep a friendship going. Your desire to have good friends requires that you also make efforts to keep in touch..." So I hope that I learn something from this and try to put a little action in with my intentions. And if this post is also written in a way that may be taken wrong, for it is written word, please read my disclaimer it may help you understand me and state that writing is not a strength of mine.

Hey woman,
You did open a can of worms didn't you. Good for you. Honesty is best. Don't apologize for feelings even if they change the next day. When I left Seattle you wrote me the most incredible letter about our friendship and it really shocked me. It didn't feel like I had been a great friend to anyone so it was a eye opener. There is no one in the world like you and my heart has a permanent room with your name on it. Kristen's Place --always welcome:)

I think you're a great writer, don't even worry about it!

As for your comment on my blog, please email me about coming to New York in June. I'd love for you to stay with us, we have plenty of room!
And I'd love an excuse to play.

Ahhh it's darn scary when you write something and push that post button and then begin to have writer's remorse, "did I say that right" "what if I offend someone" "what if someone thinks I'm a bad person/mother/friend". Don't worry, just write, it's things you really are thinking and you'd probably say them if they were standing right in front of you so keep blogging, don't stress!

Hey Kristen, I was blog jumping and found your blog. Yeah. I was so worried that we wouldn't ever seee or talk to you again now that your parents have moved. Your boys are cuter than ever and getting so big. I am so excited that we can stay in touch now. You'll have to check us out.

How did you find so many friends from West through blogging? Is there a search I am not aware of? I would love to be able to look up people, but I have no clue how to do it in the blog world. Is there a way?

Thx Dawn

PS thanks for the note about Dallin's arm. We have had a crazy week! Let's do lunch soon, and tell Isaac thanks for dropping off the tiller...I bet others are wondering what the heck I am talking about.

Much love,
Dawn

Hey just a random stranger passing by and I feel the same way about the written word. I am a very sarcastic person so now when I write to my sister or friends if I think something could be taken the wrong way I'll say ps, that was a joke. :) Let's just make things VERY clear.

I agree with everyone... You're pretty great at writing. I mean, who else can say they keep in-touch with their 5 year old pen-pal?? You're amazing.

BTW Edward and I are moving to Monterey (CA) sometime soon. We're on military time which means we don't really know what our plans are.

Anyway... love you and I think you're amazing.
